HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
We hope all of the mothers are enjoying their day. Whether that is spending time with family, creating memories and also taking time reminiscing about times in the past.
MENTAL HEALTH WEEK
This past week, we focused on ways to improve our mental health. We talked about ways we can reduce anxiety, improve our regulation with our emotions and other positive mental health strategies. Ideas we talked about were reading, colouring, drawing, getting outside, and reducing time we spend on devices. Playing video games, too much screen time, can increase anxiety and have a negative impact on our mental health. Look for ways to spend time together, to help improve your mental health by getting outside, going for a bike ride, playing a board game, etc.
BOOK FAIR
We will be having a book fair for our students this week. Students will get a chance to view what is available and can send in money to purchase a book during their library time. Our students worked on setting it up this last Sunday.
APRAXIA AWARENESS DAY
We are encouraging students and staff to wear blue on May 13th for Apraxia Awareness. Apraxia is a speech concern where a child has difficulty forming the right movement to make sounds. We have a Speech Language Pathologist at our school that work with our younger students on their speech.
