TRAFFIC AND PARKING

We are having significant traffic concerns with drop off and pick up at our school, especially during the morning drop off. While we understand that families are busy and that mornings can be very challenging, we have to put our students’ and families’ safety first.

Please read and share the following information with anyone who brings your child to and from school:  

The "Big Three" Rules

• No U-Turns: It is illegal and dangerous in a school zone.
• Speed Limit: Strictly 30 km/h.
• Crosswalks: Come to a complete stop until the crossing guard and all pedestrians are fully on the sidewalk. Do not "creep" or roll forward.

Where to Go (and Where NOT to Go)

Smart Parking Tips

• Give Space: Do not park within 5 meters of a crosswalk (look past the yellow paint). This ensures the guard can see oncoming traffic.
• Use the Community Centre: We are lucky to have access to this lot! Use it to avoid the congestion on 50th Avenue.

A Note on Kindness: Our staff is out there to keep your children safe. Please treat them with respect—aggressive comments only make an already stressful time of day harder for everyone.

What is ORANGE SHIRT DAY?

Orange Shirt Day began in 2013. It is a time for people across Canada to learn about the history and lasting impacts of the Indian residential school system. In 2021, the Canadian government also made September 30th the federal National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Both days are observed at the same time.

École Bellevue School will be honouring this day by wearing orange on Tuesday, Sept. 29th. There is no school on Sept. 30th to observe these events.

VERIFICATION FORMS

Action Required: Annual Student Verification Forms are now OPEN!

Each school year, families must complete a Student Verification Form for every child enrolled to ensure our contact, emergency, and medical information is up to date.

How to complete your form:

1. Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal (using a web browser on a computer works best).
2. On the left-hand navigation menu, scroll to the bottom and click “Student Enrollment Verification”.
3. Enter your child’s birthdate when prompted to access and complete the form.

Please submit all completed forms by Wednesday, September 30. Having accurate emergency contacts on file is essential for your child's safety. If you need help logging in or completing the process, please contact the main office.
