Sept. 14-18
Dear Bellevue Families,
With our beautiful weather finally returning, I thought I should review our school and division policies regarding pets. Pets are not permitted inside the school, on the playground or near school entrances and exits. We understand that walking to school is a wonderful opportunity to exercise all members of the family including the dog. If you bring your dog to school in the morning or after school, please keep it on a leash and under control at all times. The dog should be kept away from the entrance/exit doors so that students may come and go without having to walk by your dog. A dog doesn’t need to be large or aggressive to hurt or frighten a child. We are also looking out for the best interest and safety of the dog. Please never tie your dog up outside the school and leave it while you come inside.
For hand to hand drop offs in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, please connect with each other as parents to help students get where they need to be without bringing pets inside or near the door to the school.
Thank you with your assistance in keeping our busy school grounds fun and safe for everyone.
MORNING ARRIVAL AND PUNCTUALITY REMINDER
To ensure a smooth and productive start to the school day, please keep the following morning schedule in mind:
- 8:15 AM: Morning supervision begins.
- 8:22 AM: First bell and arrival time for all students.
- 8:28 AM: Second bell rings. Students arriving after this time will need to report to the office and be marked late.
Please remember that punctuality is crucial for our students' success. Late arrivals cause students to miss important morning routines and disrupt the learning environment for the rest of the class.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping our classrooms start each day off right!

TERRY FOX
Annual Terry Fox Walk & Toonie (or more!) Pied-in-the-Face Fundraiser!
Our annual Terry Fox event is right around the corner! On Friday, September 25, students will take part in our schoolwide Terry Fox Walk. To help us raise money for cancer research, we're bringing back a student favorite: "Pie in the Face" Fundraiser!
- Toonies: Starting this week, students can bring in a Toonie (or more!) to "vote" for the staff member they’d most like to see get a pie in the face. We'll hold the big pie event on the back field on September 25—it's always a highlight of the year!
- Walk Permission Form Required: To ensure your child can participate in the class walk on September 25, please log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal and sign the online permission form as soon as possible.
Thank you for supporting this great cause and helping us make a difference!
PICTURE DAY
Picture Day is Sept. 16th for students in Kindergarten to Gr. 6!
SCHOOL ASSESSMENT PLAN
To ensure transparency and support your child’s academic growth, we have updated our School Assessment Plan.
Assessment is a vital tool our teachers use to understand student progress and tailor their instruction. This document outlines our approach, including:
- Our grading practices and philosophy
- How and when we communicate progress
- Expectations around missed work, late assignments, and reassessments
We encourage you to review the full document so you know exactly what to expect this school year.
