HAPPY THANKSGIVING! JOYEUSE ACTION DE GRACE!

Dear Bellevue Community,

As Thanksgiving approaches, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for every one of you. A school is only as strong as the people within it, and we are constantly inspired by the dedication of our teachers, the unwavering support of our parents, and the bright energy our students bring to the hallways each day.

Thank you for working together to make our school not just a place of learning, but a welcoming, supportive family. Whether you are traveling or staying close to home, we hope this long weekend is filled with rest, joy, and wonderful moments with your loved ones.

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

TERRY FOX EVENT UPDATE

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible school community! Together, we raised an amazing $845.60 for the Terry Fox Foundation. It was truly inspiring to see everyone unite for such an important cause.

And let's not forget the epic pie-throwing event to celebrate our success! A special shout-out to our brave volunteers—Mrs. Lavoie, Mrs. Chiesa, Mme El-Khatib, Mr. Pastushak, and Mrs. Brady—along with our mystery target, Mr. Larson, for being such great sports and getting a little messy.

We are so proud of what we’ve accomplished together!

🎃 Halloween at School 🎃

We’re excited to celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30th!

Students are welcome to dress up in costumes or wear orange and black if they prefer.

Students may come dressed in the morning, but it’s recommended that they change into their costumes after lunch. We’ll be hosting our Halloween Parade in the gym at about 1:15 p.m. — families are welcome to join us for the parade!

Please keep the following in mind when sending costumes to school:

  • Students will be eating throughout the day, so costumes should be comfortable and practical.
  • Your child should be able to wear their mask safely and wash their hands easily.
  • Please leave all toy weapons at home.
  • Accessories should be washable and easy to manage.
  • Costumes should be school-appropriate — please avoid anything violent or overly scary, as we have many younger students in the building.

We can’t wait to celebrate together and share in the fun!

October 2026 Education Sessions

This month, we are offering the webinar, ‘More than Just a Bad Day – Understanding Depression’. In this session, we discuss the differences between sadness and depression, common signs and symptoms, as well as treatment options and supportive strategies for coping.

We are offering a two-part series on ‘Supporting Children and Adolescents with ADHD’. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental health conditions diagnosed in children. Come to these Lunch & Learn sessions and learn about the signs and symptoms of ADHD, ways that ADHD impacts achievement, self-worth, and relationships in children and youth, and strategies to support success.

November 2026 Education Sessions

Join us for the four-part series on ‘Understanding Anxiety’.  In these core learning sessions, we will discuss anxiety, when it can be helpful, and when it may be harmful.  We’ll consider some different ways that anxiety may show up in our bodies, our thoughts, and our behaviours and share approaches that can help us feel more present, regulated, and effective. Participants are welcome to join one or more sessions in this series.

In addition, we are offering ‘Parenting Strategies for Positive Mental Health’ a two-part series which will explore factors that contribute to your child’s mental health and wellness and learn how you can be your child’s greatest mental health asset.
