We are excited to welcome everyone back after the break. We hope everyone was able to enjoy time with friends and families.
REPORTING ABSENCES
A big thank you to parents and families who have been using SafeArrival to report their child's absences.
To help ensure accurate and timely attendance records for all students, we ask families to continue using our SafeArrival absence reporting system rather than calling the school. Mornings are a very busy time in school offices, and reporting absences through SafeArrival allows staff to focus on student support while ensuring no absences are missed. Absences can be reported quickly and conveniently 24/7 using the app, website, or automated phone line. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our schools running smoothly. It is important that parents verify their child’s absence—either by reporting it in advance through SafeArrival or by responding directly to a notification phone call if one is received. When absences are verified, schools can ensure the safety of all students and accurately track attendance. Your participation helps keep all students safe.
REPORT CARDS
Report cards will be posted on January 30th. In anticipation of this, teachers will be finalizing grades, and PowerSchool will be closed to parent access beginning Friday, January 9th at 3:00 PM.
Please be sure to log in to PowerSchool prior to this time to review current assignments, grades, and attendance. Thank you for your continued support.
KINDERGARTEN
We are pleased to inform you that Kindergarten registration opens on January 5, 2026 at 9am. Please check out Kindergarten information on the Black Gold website here.
We encourage families to register early to help ensure a smooth transition into Kindergarten for the upcoming school year. Early registration also assists the school division with planning and staffing.
