HERITAGE WEEK

Bellevue Heritage Week – Celebrating Our Cultures!

Next week, Bellevue will be celebrating Heritage Week, an idea proudly created by a group of our past Grade 5 students who wanted to honour the diversity that makes our school community so special. Canada is a wonderfully diverse country, and our students believe this is something worth celebrating—especially during the winter season.

Throughout the week, we will explore and recognize many winter celebrations from around the world, as well as the different ways families show love, joy, and togetherness. We know that not everyone celebrates an official holiday in winter, and that’s perfectly okay—what matters most is spending time with the people we care about and appreciating the traditions that make each of us unique.

One of the highlights of the week will be our Parade of Traditional Clothing on Thursday Dec 18th. Students are encouraged to wear or bring any special cultural or traditional clothing they would like to share. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the beauty and variety of our backgrounds.

We look forward to celebrating our differences, learning from one another, and growing closer as a community. Happy Heritage Week!
